Tylden was a line prosecutor in the trenches in the mid-90’s successfully putting drive-by shooters to trial at time when San Antonio was known as the “Drive-by Capitol of Texas.”  He successfully tried to a jury many murder case, securing multiple life sentences for these violent crimes; and he also tried and secured the death penalty in two capital murder cases during his tenure in the DA’s office.

In 2000, he left the office to establish his own practice in San Antonio.   He is board certified in criminal law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and has an AV rating with Martindale-Hubble.   He obtained his bachelor’s degree from Brown University, where he also started as a Division I water polo player competing at a national level. Tylden has lectured at various continuing legal education seminars.  And since leaving the DA’s office, he has been appointed by judges to represent the State of Texas as a Special Prosecutor.

He was raised in San Antonio, and he and his wife, Dr. Stephanie Bowen, raised their children here as well.  He coached little league teams for his children at the same league where he himself played ball as a child; and was also a board member for the league.
