About Tommy Stolhandske

Tommy Stolhanske v2Tommy Stolhandske is a third generation Bexar County attorney. He is proud to work with and learn from his grandfather, former Bexar County Commissioner Tom Stolhandske and father, local attorney Matt Stolhandske.   After becoming licensed as an attorney in 2009, Tommy launched his own practice in the office with his dad and grandfather, which they have recently moved to Southtown in San Antonio. Born and raised in San Antonio, Tommy was an all-city basketball player and member of the National Honor Society at Churchill High School.  After graduation, he moved down the road to Texas Lutheran University in Seguin, where he was a member of the men’s basketball team and two time finalist for the Josten’s National Player of the Year Trophy. Off the court Tommy was a member of the business honor’s society, participant in Bulldog’s for Kids, and honors graduate.

After graduating from TLU, Tommy took a job in sports marketing with Intersport in Chicago, Illinios. While managing an on-site marketing tour that took him all over the country, he discovered that his true calling was to return to Bexar County and attend law school. He choose to follow the steps of his father and grandfather before him at St. Mary’s University School of Law.

Some of the most formative lessons in Tommy’s career were those he learned in Innsbruck, Austria under Supreme Court Justice Scalia, whose answer to every difficult legal question faced by attorneys and courts was, “do what the constitution says.”

While at St. Mary’s, Tommy was granted internships with the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office and Pocket Wireless Real Estate division. Though these experiences he realized that his true passion was criminal law.

Tommy was honored in 2013, by Scene in SA Magazine, as one of the top criminal defense attorneys in San Antonio, and was proud to be one of the youngest attorneys to make the list.

Tommy and his wife Tina, an RN with the San Antonio Orthopaedic Group, are members of Coker United Methodist Church and the proud owners of River City Run, the #1 rated San Antonio tour on TripAdvisor.  Tommy and Tina love sharing their passion for San Antonio with locals and tourists alike.
